Ford To Create 5,000 New Jobs By Building Plant In India. Guess Why.

Ford, the only US automaker to not take government bailout money, and the only US automaker with a ‘world class’ rating from Consumer Reports, is going to build an all new plant while creating 5,000 new jobs to boot.  Only, it’s in India and not the United States.

The new manufacturing facilities in Sanand in the western state of Gujarat will create 5,000 jobs, and will be able initially to produce 240,000 vehicles and 270,000 engines a year, Ford said.

There are several reasons Ford is making this move, but you’d be an idiot if you didn’t agree it has to do with auto workers unions.  If you know your history, then you know the auto unions are responsible for the death/near-death of Detroit automakers.

Recently, Ford union autoworkers voted overwhelmingly to strike.

The first UAW member vote to strike occurred this past weekend at the Kansas City Assembly Plant with a final tally of 3,049 to 18 in favor of going on strike. The Kansas City plant produces the popular Escape and Escape Hybrid, along with select Ford F150 models. There is currently another voting process underway at the Dearborn Truck Plant and according to Automotive News, sources indicate that the Dearborn labor group is also expected to vote heavily in favor of walking out.

Way to stimulate jobs overseas unionites!

What was that nonsense Hoffa was foaming at the mouth about the other day? Something about “give America back to an America where we belong.”  Keep it up, and there won’t be any American cars made by Americans anymore.  Just non-union, but well-paid, Toyota workers.
