I’ve gone round and round with Newt supporters on this. He supports the individual mandate, always has, and always will. Maybe not in the way Obama supports it, but he does support it nonetheless.
Newt supporters have stated that he ‘clarified’ his position on the mandates. That clarification was that he supports them, just not in their current form. It is an unconstitutional position regardless.
Newt has a history of picking and choosing upholding the constitution or not.
